After the Second World War, and especially after Stalin's death, the Russians once again delved into making films that were truly worth watching. This romantic story has incredibly beautiful cinematography, but the story is also beautiful. It has a touch of realism, yet patriotism persists, although it's definitely not a strongly socialist film. That's why it's worth a watch.
