Green Hornet (2011)

angielski The Green Hornet is a brisk and bracing ride that strongly evoked the atmosphere of last year's Kick-Ass. It delivers a perfect action spectacle and a large number of fights and chases. Poor Kato, growing up in a poor neighborhood and having such a jerk for a boss (played brilliantly by Seth Rogen). Christoph Waltz is awesome after Inglorious Basterds and here he got me again, Mr. Chudnofsky vs. Mr. Bloodnofsky. In short, a film with a classy cast, music and effects that is more action packed than a driving school final test.

Morgan and Destiny's Eleventeenth Date: The Zeppelin Zoo (2010)

angielski One thing this short deserves praise for is the original animation, which is interspersed with live-action sequences (although maybe the opposite is true). I didn't understand it at all, but I hope I understood the basic context. Simple, but visually imaginative.

Banana (2010)

angielski I don't really enjoy bananas, which can't be said for these little yellow beans(?) from Despicable Me (which I haven't seen yet, unfortunately). Really funny!

Zakochany bez pamięci (2004)

angielski That was quite a ride... A memory here and there, with the occasional real thing thrown in, and then it would seem impossible to understand. And look! I understood the incomprehensible and misunderstood the comprehensible - a crazy combination, I know, like the speed of Clementine's hair color change. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is an amazing journey into the deepest recesses of a lover's soul, where everything seems so real, but let's not be fooled. The great Jim Carrey and the absolutely amazing Kate Winslet may make a completely mismatched pair (which may be just me), but the ways of love are devious. This is definitely one of the most intricate films of the 21st century, and it gave me everything on offer - sweet romance, bitter drama and unadulterated sci-fi ... ...and actually feel great about something so special.

Gdzie jest Nemo (2003)

angielski Along with Shrek and Ice Age, Finding Nemo is one of the animated feature films I grew up watching, so I can't get enough of it. Just as Shrek has Donkey and Ice Age has Scrat, Finding Nemo's greatest asset is the amazing and eternally sclerotic Dory, who deserves "some kind of animated Oscar". Both technically (animation, music, sound) and script-wise, this is one of the most delicate treats I've ever tasted. In short, a wonderful story from the ocean, full of colour and all sorts of creatures, where the sharks are hardened vegetarians.

Burleska (2010)

angielski Burlesque is a more sophisticated and colourful version of Coyote Ugly, where the main storyline again revolves around a young girl who has come to the big city and has the gift of art - singing and dancing. Actually, I could close the review here and give it an average 3*, but I just can't do that. Why not?! Because Cher, Christina Aguilera, the music and the choreography. Both divas wowed me with their singing and their performance. And I have no words for the amazing choreography and music. In short, it's cliché to the point of being painful, but it's full of colour, singing, dancing and likeable actors.

Fighter (2010)

angielski The Fighter is one of those films that didn't dazzle me until the second half, which is always the more important half for me. The beginning was just bland, but, like I said, the second half was better, especially the last fight. Christian Bale (whom I'll probably never come to like) played his role quite well, and from the female cast I have to single out Amy Adams and Melissa Leo. In short, it's not up for a Best Picture Oscar, no question about that, but the Bald Man would be a good fit in the hands of any of the actors (3 chances).

Do szpiku kości (2010)

angielski As it has already been said somewhere, Winter's Bone only completed the ten Oscar aspirants for Best Picture, because personally, this film gave me a pretty average impression. Overall, I found it flat and it seemed like they didn't bother to go deeper. Personally, I wouldn't want to live in the same neighborhood as the main character because everyone there looked like a murderer or like they had just bitten someone. Four Oscar nominations seems excessive to me, because this film is in no way a prime example of anything better - except perhaps Jennifer Lawrence's performance.

Spacer po linie (2005)

angielski I love biopics, and Walk the Line is a prime representative of this category. The film is about the tumultuous life of Johnny Cash, who spent much of his life battling his personal demons, and it's shot with elegance and feels very believable, thanks largely to the breathtaking performances of Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon. I love country music style because it's full of life and rhythm, and the two main protagonists add even more juice. In short, a great job of filmmaking, where I appreciate especially the theme, the acting and the music.
