angielski A would-be serious reflection on the story of a Japanese soldier/doctor in a military camp where atrocious medical experiments on humans are carried out. The screenplay offers up a dramatic storyline – the soldier’s love for a far-away girl – but its filming is so spasmodic and naïve that the movie is almost unwatchable. One star only for the hint of some sort of thought-provoking message. The repulsive scenes here are really and truly repulsive. ()

angielski Maruta 2: Laboratory of the Devil is a big disappointment for me and just shows that some cults are created based on movies that don't deserve it at all. It could have been due to the time period in which it was made when there weren't many similar films, but I don't think that was the case. Perhaps it intrigued with the element of the experimental laboratory and those creepy, albeit not very explicit, experiments that unfold here. I can't really explain it any other way. ()
