Ted Lasso (2020)

angielski Ted Lasso is the ultimate feel-good comedy about a guy who’s never watched a soccer game in his life (but knows American football) and somehow ends up coaching a Premier League team. Then there's the club owner, fresh off a messy divorce, who’s dead set on destroying the team just to spite her ex. It’s ten episodes of laughs, chill vibes, and a whole lot of scenarios that would never happen in real-life football—but it's fun. Jason Sudeikis absolutely nails the role as the overly enthusiastic, super-positive American coach, and the culture clash with Europe’s more emotionally reserved vibe is comedy gold. I’m definitely looking forward to the next seasons! ()

Season 2 (2021) (S02)

angielski I have to say, the second season of Ted Lasso had me hooked even more than the first. There are some standout episodes that aren't just fantastic — they even throw in nods to classics like Love Actually. For the first time in a long while, I found myself looking forward to Friday nights, excited for something light-hearted and funny to ease me into the weekend. The show continues to hit the right notes with its familiar themes and well-timed humor. I've also grown attached to the characters, even the ones who were initially harder to warm up to (looking at you, Juno Temple's very British character). The football scenes are not only entertaining but surprisingly touching, and I appreciated the deeper dive into some of the characters' psychology. I had to give that fifth star for the hilarious moments with Roy in the football studio and the absolutely wild episode focused on Beard. Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso has become even more endearing this season, and I can’t wait to see what season three has in store. ()

Season 3 (2023) (S03)

angielski The third season of Ted Lasso starts off slow, but that’s no issue because the emotional rollercoaster kicks in soon enough. It beautifully blends football with the personal lives of the characters, giving each their due space and seamlessly intertwining their stories. There were moments where I was in awe of how well the main characters are written. Each one undergoes significant changes that either warm your heart or leave a mark on your soul. The writers truly outdid themselves this season. As I got more absorbed in the third season, I kept telling everyone that this is the pinnacle of great writing. The finale confirmed it for me — I felt like someone ripped my heart out and stomped on it. I haven’t felt this way about characters in a long time. Ted Lasso is a beautiful show, and I’m so glad it exists. You don’t have to be a football fan to appreciate it; it’s an emotional exploration of humanity that resonates deeply. And there are plenty of moments that showcase this. ()
