I wish the filmmakers hadn't gone the musical route because this could’ve been a really delightful family film on its own. Forest Whitaker and Keegan-Michael Key are perfectly cast, and the overall concept, along with the gorgeous set design, is just lovely. It has all the makings of a charming fantasy family movie, but the musical numbers felt like a distraction. If you can tune those out, it’s a great watch!
