Gangi Londynu (2020)

angielski Gareth Evans has returned to his roots after a six-year hiatus since The Raid 2, bringing back his knack for creating unforgettable action sequences (I’d rather forget his 2018 film Apostle, which was a misstep). He also added a decent story revolving around various criminal families in London, which ended up being quite impressive. However, I regret that he didn’t direct all the episodes himself; he only took on the pilot and the fifth episode (which deserves its own review). These two episodes featured the most refined choreography in terms of action; it’s been a long time since I’ve seen such a realistically brutal spectacle in a film (sure, I haven’t forgotten about John Wick, but Gareth Evans has a unique, fresh style that’s miles away from JW and always captivates me). The other episodes were handled by Xavier Gens and Corin Hardy; they didn’t disappoint, but they’re missing a bit of Evans’ mastery. The first half, climaxing with the most epic adrenaline sequence at the end of the fifth episode, definitely earns a full score. Towards the end of the series, it lost some momentum, but the conclusion pleasantly surprised me, and I’m looking forward to the second season. I give it 81%. P.S. Evans, just make The Raid 3 already; you can’t leave us fans hanging! :D ()

Episode 5 (2020) (S01E05)

angielski The absolute pinnacle of the action genre; I haven’t seen such a massacre on the big screen in a long time. Gareth Evans knows his stuff, and here he demonstrated his flair for delivering a stunning and effective, brutal spectacle to us viewers in full force. Incredible. 100% ()
