The comedic aspect in this case is truly well done, especially Poirot's encounters with the prince, as these are two perfectly different characters. The plot with the ruby isn't too bad either, and the individual Christmas props are used quite innovatively. Plus, the entire time you don't know what's going on, and who's dead and who's not. In that respect, the episode was a success.
