Among the ailments of old age affecting mainly intellectuals, there are two complementarily linked defects. These are firstly the inability to keep hold of an idea and the second is the inability to let go of an idea. That is how the discussion before Švestka begins and this also applies to the play itself. As usual, it is excellent, funny and... And you get the impression that the Cimrman troupe is recycling what they already used at least once in the past. Even the creators admit that they wrote a play without a story “from the elderly for the elderly". It’s as if that in fact they grasped one idea that they just will not let go of. However, I cannot claim that this is something that prevents this being entertaining. (25.10.2007)

But he was that young one! Kryštof! That dude! He lived in Polžice or Bezdružice... One of the best plays of my favorite theater. Smoljak's sclerotic improvisations are perfect. (31.12.2005)
