Terytorium współczesnej Estonii, rok 1870. Młody i energiczny mężczyzna Andres (Priit Loog) wraz z żoną Krõõt (Maiken Pius) przyjeżdża do swojego, kupionego na kredyt gospodarstwa, aby rozpocząć nowe życie. I was torn about watching this one, even before I hit play. Estonia is just as intriguing to me as Scandinavia, so I decided to give it a shot, despite its hefty 149-minute runtime. Let’s be honest—it takes a lot of confidence to make a film that long without fearing you’ll bore the audience to death. With a movie like this, it’s either going to be a total disaster or an unforgettable cinematic experience. Thankfully, the Estonians pulled it off. Truth and Justice is a stunning period epic set in rural Estonia in the late 19th century. The performances are impressive, with the characters evolving throughout the film. The cinematography is absolutely breathtaking—those marshlands almost had a hypnotic beauty. And the story? I was hooked from start to finish. This is a truly exceptional film!
