The film follows Štěpán Šafránek FROM his senior year in high school through medical school and his first year of medical practice to his post-Velvet Revolution experiences with the dawning era of the businessman. Shameful remainder of everything I used to love about the series. Only weak remnants of great humor remain, strong discomfort with the pointing out of various storylines, and the usual romance is almost completely gone. Out of love for the poets, it's about 50% better, but adding the unsympathetic Tereza Brodska to Stepan's collection of fateful women was a huge mistake that could have buried the series for good. Fortunately, the poets do not lose hope.

One of many experiences from the Otava movie theater in Horažďovice. The beginning of a new post-revolutionary trilogy within a poetic hexalogy, this film is an unrepeatable mirror of the times, which, although it does push fairly hard, perfectly captures the post-revolutionary conditions and is equal to other similar films.

Sure, it's not the same anymore, but I think it's a pretty nice look at what those times were like, how everyone saw opportunities in everything, and how easy it seemed to get rich. It's just a shame that it wasn't a bit more caustic towards the Czech opportunists. From a poetic storytelling perspective, I like the romance between Šafránek and Ute, it has something special about it, and Tereza Brodská is excellent. But otherwise, it's really the same thing all over again. And Matásek is really annoying.
