Tommy Wirkola returned to Snow with an obvious upgrade in the budget, so limbs, heads, and every conceivable body part were flying around again. It's Wirkola's own brand of Nordic poetry. This time around, we've got the professional and determined American Zombie Squad jumping into the mix, so things aren't as straightforward as they were in the first part. But the real standout? The increased dose of black humor. Some scenes are downright unforgettable (the field hospital, the loyal zombie, the fuel pumping, the final erotica, etc.). / Lesson learned: When you're giving first aid, just make sure it's not the last aid. 4*- (18.05.2022)

The first instalment was not really sure if it wants to be serious, or seriously funny. However, the second one is much different. It is hilarious from the beginning till the end and everything that happens there is a total hyperbole. And it all looks so innocent at the beginning. The tipping point is when they sew a zombie’s hand onto the main character. Then such crazy things happen that everyone the main character meets will stay stuck in your head. My favorite was the metrosexual gay poseur with inconspicuously Finnish surname. These inconspicuous Scandinavian allusions can really lift up your mood. Actually, the whole instalment can do that. I have to admit, I did not expect that I would laugh that much and that I would want more explosions in the middle of the Norwegian nature. (19.04.2016)

The madness is back with a broader scope and a better form, and the only question in my mind is whether Dead Snow 2 is the best zombie movie or the best horror comedy. I found the first installment to be an average uninteresting genre flick with weak digital effects and minimal humor, but the second one kicked my ass. Unbelievable carnage from start to finish, guts flying everywhere, guts, blood slowly flowing even from the screen, add to that an awesome soundtrack and the best zombie make-up effects I've ever seen, and I also can't help but mention a lot of both funny and entertaining scenes and dialogue. Someone really put some work into the film, perfect technical and directorial aspects, a film so good it must have three languages in it, everything runs like a Swiss watch, gore lovers will really enjoy it and I can't wait for the next screening with bong in hand.  10/10 Guilty Pleasure. Nice zombie massacre comedy. Unlike the first episode, there are lots of brutally funny scenes, like the heart massage at the beginning, it was hilarious. I’m not a big fan of this type of comedy splatter-fests, but I had fun with this one. Overall, between 3 and 4 stars, but the closing sequence with “A Total Eclipse of the Heart” was the deciding factor for the higher rating. This film has cult potential, I’ve already watched several more times. (05.07.2014)

Tommy Wirkola is a beast!! It's hard to say what's the most fucked up thing of this film, because pretty much everything is incorrect, unorthodox and unusual in the classic film genre! Killing wheelchair users and running over kids in a sandbox with a tank against the backdrop of a Nazi zombie attack on Norway, an American zombie squad and a gay museum receptionist, or a bunch of kinky, far-fetched gore? All of this is quite pleasing to a viewer bored with the classic mainstream, and my joy skyrocketed after watching it. If I add to this the director's clear vision, where compared to the 1st part (which was very weak and below average) he has added to the fun and matured into a form where he is sure of what he wants to say, and on top of that the perfect, even unbeatable visuals, then in the end I have nothing to complain about. Juicy, brisk and bloody fun that I would take right away in the form of a series or at least a third part. Wirkola is winning me over more and more with his different yet entertaining style, and I just hope something new is in the works. (09.05.2023)
