Found

The American movie Found is an example that even in horror it is possible to make a movie that is about growing up that sticks to that specific genre albeit given it a different drive and have it is characterized by quite interesting characters and a slow pace. Personally, this is something that does not sit all that well with me, so from my perspective, this movie has to settle for an average rating. (18.06.2020)

Found is more of a psychological drama than a horror film, which is unfortunately a stumbling block for me. The story is pretty decent, but the execution is much worse in terms of overall look, audio, cinematography or those few cheesy gore effects. What I did enjoy, however, were the nice nods to horror in general, but this film didn't make a hole in my heart. 60% (26.04.2014)

I’m giving it a fourth star as a bonus for a beginner creator. If I were an American producer, I would give him a million dollars and for that money I would expect him to make the best horror movie of the year. Because if he was able to make such a watchable, ambitious, dark and professionally looking (under the circumnstances) horror movie for 8000 dollars!!!, we are really in front of a great talent. Fans of the American indie scene should pay a lot of attention to this movie, the rest should wait for Schirmer’s next one, which hopefully will have a bigger budget. In any case, I hope this guy will make more movies. (22.10.2013)
