angielski This film has a pretty crazy plot, but the outcome is not as unexpected as the film would have liked. Louis de Funès is good mainly in the sense that he's not the one who controls the plot but rather the one who is pushed around for most of the movie. He sweats beautifully throughout and once again demonstrates his comedic potential. ()

angielski The Big Restaurant as "de Funès's most artful comedy" works especially in the first half, which is full of hilariously comic restaurant situations involving the "mild" terrorising of the staff. In the second half, the film relies on a police investigations and action chases, but the whole crime-plot makes a poor impression and pushes the film into the average. I found the denouement rather silly. Louis De Funès didn't disappoint, but the weaker script noticeably tripped him up at times. ()
