17-letni Scott ucieka z domu. Towarzyszy mu dziewczyna, Nikki. Matka Scotta, Colette, postanawia za wszelką cenę go odnaleźć. Kobieta kontaktuje się z byłymi partnerami - prawnikiem Jackiem i pisarzem Dalem. Każdemu z nich mówi, że Scott jest jego synem i prosi o pomoc w odnalezieniu go. Do poszukiwań przyłącza się ojciec Nikki, Russ. Dale i Jack się poznają. Są przekonani, że szukają dwóch różnych nastolatków związanych z Nikki. Hollywood remakes of French films are mostly crap, that’s a well known fact, and Father’s Day is no exception. The humour is lost, replaced by awkwardness and hamminess. Billy Crystal is boring Robin Williams embarrassing.

Compared to the French original, this is nothing. You laugh a few times and have a relatively decent time (thanks to the great actors), but compared to the original it's really weak.

This comedy, which is a remake of a French film, tries to say a lot, and it wants to take the audience to various places, but what happens simply isn't as interesting as one would wish. Billy Crystal and Robin Williams are probably a good team, but here their humor just didn't work. Their characters weren't funny to me, even though they were supposedly the funniest part of the whole movie. That's sad enough in itself.
