Or how to enter a woman's mind and leave with a clear conscience. Dear, charming, acting genuinely well, but just as you imagine. For me, it was really very old-fashioned. As if an old, shabby but still charming cottage stood in the mountains for me, just about to fall apart, but I always gladly come back to it.

I rewatched this film after many years and I have no regrets. Apparently, even a cynic like me needs a feel-good movie with a great period atmosphere once in a while. The film is notable for its lack of action scenes unless you count the moment that concluded the ice-skating scene. Yet, I enjoyed it very much. It proved that not even a moving scene needs to be cringey or melodramatic. The film cast also deserves praise. Yes, I do remember that I, too, looked a little different back then:-)
