Shanks isn't as good as Castle's earlier films, it's not as funny, and it's not as scary, as if William Castle decided that the bizarre and the strange, quiet concept would speak for themselves. This film is simply not that strong and it doesn't make that much of an impact on the viewer. It's too bad, because I expected more than just a strange atmosphere from such an innovative filmmaker. For me, the story is a little thin. ()
