Satyajit Ray continues to excel in his trilogy with the second installment, which is again a beautiful example of how this creator can capture India, but above all, the human stories unfolding within its borders. This is indeed a strength of the film, even in terms of how the stories are written and how the individual scenes are crafted. Ray had a gift for the right cuts and scene lengths.
