Gdy seryjny morderca sieje spustoszenie, dokonując rytualnych morderstw, wszelkie konwencjonalne metody śledcze zaczynają zawodzić. Detektywi proszą więc o pomoc skazanego na wieloletnie więzienie zabójcę kilku kobiet, zwanego Artystą (John Malkovich), którego „prace” morderca wyraźnie naśladuje. Podczas gdy agentka szuka wskazówek w genialnej, lecz pokręconej psychice skazańca, pozostali śledczy toczą niebezpieczną grę, aby być krok przed bandytą. (Cineman)

angielski Well, this was a total disappointment once again! A brilliant example of how even famous and big-name actors can mean utter garbage. The movie has only one good thing, and that is the concept. Religious-oriented murders, that's pretty cool, but that's where it begins and ends. The performances are terrible, the soundtrack is ridiculously awful, as if the sound technician froze in the '90s, and the developing plot doesn't actually develop at all. The final twist may be a twist, but the overall explanation made me laugh so hard that I'm thinking, "Well damn, are we really incapable of making a good movie anymore?" It absolutely doesn't compare to the movie "Seven." I might watch that to improve my mood because this, ladies and gentlemen, is a complete waste of time. Bleh. ()

angielski A second-rate Silence of the Lambs, just like its central magician. The unfocused direction, the laborious script pushing towards two points (the first being ambiguous, the second having a decent level due to a bad habit), and the crushing inability to extract more from it. A prime example is the scene where the detective first meets the killer in prison, from whom he needs information. I still remember the tension when Lecter first appeared to the audience and Agent Starling. Here, under supposed dramatic music, the somewhat clumsy Gandalf walks into the visiting room and picks up the phone as if he’s ordering a pizza. I can’t say it surprised me, but Martin Lawrence in a dramatic role is completely off the mark. ()
