Robert Sacchi stars as Inspector Pontaine. Pontaine is investigating a seemingly open-and-shut case of a prostitute's murder, with the prime suspect a small-time jewel thief named Antoine Gottvalles (Pietro Martellanza). Gottvalles is convicted and sentenced to death, but vows to revenge his wrongful execution from beyond the grave. The French Sex Murders is a giallo that isn't particularly interesting, and even within this genre, which is not easy to mess up, it's still quite weak. Beautiful women simply aren't everything, because the creators couldn't even handle the slightly erotic scenes, which come off as awkward. Several quite interesting ideas don't save it; they're only used for short scenes and quickly pass by (severed head, eye surgery, etc.).
