Guns? Not at all... Sheriff Ethan Hawke has his pants pulled down way too low! And the audience is kept in suspense, wondering whether Pedro Pascal's back door opened for a handful of dollars, for a few extra bucks, out of love, out of self-interest, or because of his "chiropractic" experience with an old colleague. Pedro Almodóvar has tried out many genres in short films, so why not return to his old flirtation with taming a mountain? The result is a brevity fueled by length, which has turned the tale from the Pink West into a triviality with an unintended comedic touch. Perhaps that's why the poster looks like it’s from an Urban Adventurers film.
